There are more than 500 exhibits in the museum's extensive collection organized chronologically. Represented are a superlative collection of Musical Instruments, Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, as well as Textile and Fashion Arts. Highlights also include superb 19th-century French paintings such as Renoir’s Dance at Bougival, one of the largest collections of works by Monet found outside of France, and Egyptian and Japanese collections that are unrivalled anywhere in North America.
