Mechanics Hall is a historical center that has also become a performing arts venue.  It's origins trace back to the mid 19th century when it was a place for mechanics to learn work skills.  It  also doubled in that era as a place for experiencing cultural events.  Today you can tour it and see the historic Worcester Organ and its 3,504 pipes.  It is located in the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor in Worcester, off of I-290.  Take  exit 16 which is Central Street to Worcester Center Boulevard, turn left and proceed to Waldo Street, and turn right.
