Long wharf was Boston's largest wharf from the beginning, spanning nearly 2000 feet into the sea and wide enough to accomodate stores and shops.  Lined with brick warehouses that resemble what is now the Chart House restaurant, the wharf was built during the late 17th century to accomodate the port activities of an advancing population increasing at the rate of 2000 per year.

The Wharf is rich in military history.  As a Paul Revere engraving shows, British soldiers landed at the Wharf.  Later on they hastily retreated from that point as well.

Boston Harbor Points is the location of the annual Boston Seaport Festival held for one week each summer with fun filled outdoor and water festivities including parades, music, and plenty of fun for the family.
